Our Team

Cooper Pacific was founded by Morley Cooper and his team in 1994. Our Board of Directors is comprised of some of the most respected business people in real estate, construction management, building contracting, mortgage brokerage, finance and executive management in Western Canada.  Proud to be carrying on the Cooper tradition of trusted investment providers, Cam Cooper, who has been with Cooper Pacific since its inception, now works closely with Morley Cooper as Chief Mortgage Officer.

Morley Cooper

Chief Executive Officer

Morley has spent his entire career in the mortgage loan and real estate valuation business. From the early part of his career in the Mortgage Loan and Real Estate Investment Division of Prudential Insurance Company of America, to Vice President for Hu Harries & Associates (an economic consulting, appraisal and assessment company), and Cumberland Mortgage Corporation (a mortgage loan correspondent and brokerage company), to finally running his own company. Morley has many years of experience in all areas of mortgage financing, construction lending, real estate appraisals and underwriting. In 1994, together with a group of well-respected Victoria business people, Morley established Cooper Pacific (1994) Mortgage Investment Corporation, of which he is the CEO and a Director. His expertise and knowledge has been instrumental in providing the quality of products that Cooper Pacific investors have come to rely upon. When he’s not at the office, you can find Morley out on the golf course or playing with his grandchildren.

Cam Cooper

Chief Mortgage Officer

Cam has been with Cooper Pacific since its inception in 1994, where he began as a mortgage loan underwriter. He now leads the lending side of the company as its Chief Mortgage Officer. Prior to 1994, Cam studied at the University of Victoria, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree. He has traveled to almost every corner of the globe—from South America to Africa, South East Asia, Europe and the Middle East—while remaining firmly anchored to Victoria. He maintains close working relationships with many Vancouver Island developers, as well as key brokers in Vancouver and the major centres of the Okanagan Valley. Cam and his wife, Laura, welcomed their daughter Audrey in 2011. He is an active father who enjoys time with his family, traveling and exploring new venues and social events that Victoria has to offer.

Jonathan Norgaard

Chief Financial Officer

Jon is a Chartered Accountant and began his career with KPMG in Victoria, BC. Subsequent to public practice, he moved to San Francisco and worked as Senior Manager in the Internal Audit department of Oracle Corporation, a world leader in database software. After the birth of their daughter in California, Jon and his wife, Scyi, returned to Victoria to raise their family. Jon took over the role of CFO with ACD Systems, a Victoria-based technology company. After eight years in the technology sector, he moved into the public sector where he became the Director of Finance for BC Transit before joining the team at Cooper Pacific in 2012. In his spare time, Jon enjoys travelling, music, and a variety of sports, including biking, skiing and fly fishing.

Barb Gallup

Investor Relations Manager

Barb began working with Morley in early 1992. She has been involved in real estate and investments her entire professional career making her the perfect choice for our Investor Relations Manager. Her years working with Broadmead Farms Ltd. provided her with a solid background in real estate which she then expanded working in the financial sector with investment firms Midland Walwyn and Scotia McLeod. Barb has the expertise coupled with exceptional customer service and administration skills to efficiently administer our investor account details. Barb likes to stay active and enjoys traveling – cruising in particular – with her husband, Dave, and their family.

Guy Pocock

Accountant

Guy immigrated to Canada in 2000 from Zimbabwe, where he was a registered Public Accountant, and the major shareholder of a substantial real estate sales and management firm. He was a Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe and was elevated to Honorary Life Membership status in 1998, after serving 16 years on the Board, including two years as the Institute’s President. Guy is never happier than when actively involved, ensuring accurate accounting and the smooth administration of systems. He and his wife, Wendy, enjoy waterfront walks, exploring the beauty the island has to offer, as well as traveling, in particular, to Hawaii.

Katie Mose

Office Coordinator/Investor Assistant

Originally from California, Katie moved to Victoria in 2005 and started her education at the University of Victoria. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Writing and decided to stay in beautiful BC, where she has gained valuable experience in customer service, managerial and health related roles. Katie prides herself in connecting with people; whether you are a client, a potential client or a local walking by, you will be greeted with her bright smile. When she’s not behind the front desk at Cooper Pacific, Katie enjoys fashion, fitness and interior design.
